Alaska sets its limits by regulation rather than statute, and diverges sharply. A two-axle group may carry 38,000 lb — not 34,000 — with three- and four-axle groups at 42,000 and 50,000 lb. No numeric gross ceiling exists at all; gross weight is defined purely by bridge formula, with a 3,000 lb bonus for vehicles without lift axles. Height is 15 feet, rising to 17 feet on the Dalton and Elliott Highways.
